Greenwich thrift store to be on 'Good Morning America'
The Greenwich Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop will be showcasing its selection of designer wedding gowns and tuxedos Thursday, while also being put in the spotlight by "Good Morning America."
Greenwich resident Lara Spencer , the lifestyle anchor for the ABC morning show, will be at the Hamilton Avenue shop Thursday morning to film a segment for a feature on thrift stores.
"It's basically how thrift stores were known as your grandmother's attic, and now they're cool and hip," said "Good Morning America" producer Kelly Hagan , who also lives in town.
Hagan said the show recently approached the thrift shop about shooting there, and then learned about the special wedding event that was planned. It was the perfect way to show how thrift stores can offer "an affordable wedding alternative," Hagan said.
