The world over, regardless of culture, makes a big show of weddings, and what the bride wears – itself steeped in tradition – is the centre piece of this family occasion.
The wedding cake too, is an important tradition passed down through generations.
In ancient times the cake was made of wheat, which symbolised fertility and was a blessing for the couple in the hope that they would have many children.
